An Invitation to Design Your Own Time, Space, and Experience
Welcome. Your Time Begins Here.
Imagine arriving at a beautiful retreat designed entirely around you.
There is no itinerary you must follow. No destination you must travel to. No expectation of what you should discover or become.
Only an invitation to become more intentional about the environments you enter, the energy you bring, and the experiences you cultivate.
Your retreat might unfold over an hour, an afternoon, a weekend, or an entire season of life.
It might take place in your favorite room at home, beneath the trees, beside the water, or somewhere you've always wanted to visit.
Wherever you choose, begin by considering:
How do I wish to experience myself while I'm here?
Then cultivate the conditions that invite that experience to unfold.
Before You Arrive: Invite an Intention
A retreat doesn't begin when you reach a destination. It begins the moment you become intentional about the experience you wish to create.
Consider what is calling for your attention in this season of life.
Perhaps you're seeking rest, clarity, inspiration, renewal, celebration, or simply an opportunity to enjoy your own company.
There is no single correct reason to retreat.
And there is no requirement to return as a different person.
Sometimes, the most meaningful discovery is a deeper appreciation of who you already are.
Your invitation to an intention:
-
What is calling for my attention?
-
How do I wish to feel during this experience?
-
What would I like to give myself permission to enjoy?
-
What conditions would support the experience I desire?
Allow your answers to inform your retreat rather than creating an itinerary before understanding what you need.
01 — OBSERVE
Become Aware of the Conditions You Inhabit
Before changing your environment, take time to experience it consciously.
Notice the light entering the room. The sounds surrounding you. The temperature of the air. The sensations within your body.
Observe the thoughts occupying your attention and the feelings arising in response to your surroundings.
Your environment extends beyond the physical space you occupy. It includes the information you consume, the conversations you engage in, the relationships you nurture, and the conditions within your mind and body.
Each contributes to the experience of being where you are.
Your invitation to observe:
-
What am I experiencing in this moment?
-
Where are my attention, energy, and presence directed?
-
Which elements of my environment feel restorative?
-
Which conditions might benefit from greater intention?
You do not need to judge what you notice.
Begin with awareness.
02 — CULTIVATE
Create the Conditions for Your Desired Experience
Now imagine preparing your retreat as thoughtfully as you would prepare a beautiful space for someone else to enter.
Only this time, the guest of honor is you.
Consider the sensory conditions that support your desired experience.
Light. Welcome the morning sun, soften artificial lighting, or enjoy the warmth of candlelight.
Sound. Create a playlist, listen to nature, or allow silence to become part of the experience.
Scent. Introduce fresh flowers, aromatic herbs, or a familiar fragrance that evokes comfort.
Touch. Choose comfortable clothing, inviting textures, and spaces where your body can settle.
Nourishment. Prepare foods and beverages that help you feel cared for, energized, and satisfied.
Space. Clear an area, open a window, arrange a favorite chair, or create a quiet place for reflection.
You don't need a luxurious destination to cultivate a meaningful atmosphere.
Luxury can also be experienced through the freedom to slow down, choose deliberately, and become fully present.
Your invitation to cultivate:
What can I introduce, remove, rearrange, or renew to support the experience I desire?
Begin with what is available to you.
03 — BECOME
Experience Yourself With Intention
Now that you've prepared your surroundings, consider the person entering them.
You.
How do you wish to experience yourself during this retreat?
Perhaps you wish to feel peaceful, curious, playful, courageous, creative, sensual, grounded, or free.
Rather than waiting for these qualities to emerge, explore how you might give them expression.
If you desire freedom, what might freedom look and feel like in your movements?
If you desire peace, what choices might help you experience greater ease?
If you desire creativity, what would you enjoy exploring without the expectation of producing anything?
Your retreat is an opportunity to experience yourself beyond the routines and roles that ordinarily occupy your attention.
Your invitation to become:
-
Which qualities do I wish to embody?
-
What activities allow these qualities to come alive?
-
What would I choose if I weren't concerned with productivity or performance?
-
How do I wish to experience myself in the spaces I enter, and how do I wish others to experience themselves in my presence?
Let your answers guide the activities you choose.
You might dance, stretch, journal, meditate, create art, take a nature walk, enjoy a nourishing meal, or simply sit and observe.
There is no need to fill every moment.
Leave room for discovery.
04 — LIVE
Carry the Experience Beyond the Retreat
Every retreat eventually reaches a moment when we return to our usual activities.
But the conditions we discover don't have to remain behind.
Consider what you learned about yourself.
Perhaps you discovered that natural light changes how you experience your mornings. That movement helps you reconnect with your body. That quiet time creates space for reflection. Or that certain environments invite qualities you wish to experience more often.
These observations can become invitations to cultivate new habits.
Your invitation to live:
-
What did this experience reveal about me?
-
Which conditions would I like to cultivate more consistently?
-
What small practice could I bring into my daily life?
-
What do I wish to remember about this season?
Your retreat does not have to end when you leave the space.
It can continue through the choices you make about where and how you live.

A memory or message you wish to preserve.
Within The World of Lit by Light®, our guided experiences invite you to explore these discoveries and preserve what matters through personalized works of art.
